John Gillard joined Trinity Biotech in November 2020 as CFO before becoming President and CEO in December 2023. John qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC and has since gained a wide range of experience across a number of industry sectors including working with Alphabet Inc./Google, SSE Plc and ION Investment Group.
Des Fitzgerald
Interim Chief Financial Officer
Des Fitzgerald served as Director of Corporate Development from October 2022 before taking the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer in December of 2023. Mr. Fitzgerald – a Chartered Accountant – has previous experience as Director at PWC Canada, specialising in the life sciences industry.
Cormac Reynolds
VP of Operations
Cormac joined the company in Jan 2021. He has over 29 years in Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices manufacturing. Cormac has extensive experience in high volume automation, capacity expansions, cost reduction and lean manufacturing. He has previously worked as the WW Director of Pen Needle Manufacturing for BD Medical, Plant Manager at BD Medical General Manager at Schering Plough and Engineering Manager at Takeda Ireland Limited.
Ian Wells
VP of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs
Ian joined the company in September 2022. He has over 30 Years of work experience in R&D, Operations and QRA in the Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device sectors, quality transformations, organizational restructuring, post market surveillance, regulatory inspections, NPD/NPI, cost reduction and lean methodology. He has previously worked as the VP Quality & Regulatory at Biokit, Head of Quality at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, And Operations Manager at LifeScan.
Terence Dunne
Business Development Director
Dr. Terence Dunne joined the company in August 2016 as Business Development Manager. Terence is a PhD qualified Scientist and has held senior R&D and commercial roles in startups and multinational diagnostic companies including Argutus Medical and EKF Diagnostics
Colm Molloy
Global Director of HR, Training & Culture
Colm joined the company in 2021. Colm is a fellow of FCIPD with over 20 years in HR and training. Colm is a trained interviewer and an assessor for competency based qualifications accredited with Saville and Holdsworth, the world leader in psychometric testing and assessment tools. Has been involved in a number of organisational changes and re-engineering processes. He has previously held positions in Nuritas, Storm Technology and Grant Thornton

Global Director of Supply Chain
John joined the company in August 2022. John is an accomplished and experienced Supply Chain professional with a first class record of international achievements across multiple industry sectors. I have highly developed skills in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Creative Problem Solving, Business Strategy. He has previously held positions in EY, Grifols and Glanbia.
Gary Keating PhD
Chief Technology Officer
Gary qualified with a degree in Applied Biochemical Science and achieved his PhD from Dublin City University where his thesis was Biosensor-based studies on coumarins”. Design and characterisation of immunoassays for the detection of small drug molecules. Antibody production and development of assays using both SPR-based biosensor (BIAcore) and plate-based ELISA. Gary is a highly experienced technical leader in the IVD industry, with extensive expertise in team building, planning and troubleshooting to ensure delivery of critical projects. Gary has held a number of CTO and R&D roles throughout his career and has overseen the development, launch and in-house manufacture of a novel range of diagnostic products and the development of a new instrument platform and menu of molecular diagnostic products.
